I was wondering if any user review app has already been released using SOLID? I see some potential to decentralize reviews on two-sided platforms for instance where reviewees cannot leverage reviews because they are locked or siloed among several platforms. Of course, this comes with other key advantages such as GDPR compliance (data portability, possibility to edit reviews, remove access… ). Have you come across such a project yet?

I think this is a good idea. Centralized user review sites have a lot of power because at the end of the day they get to choose which reviews are featured most prominently, if at all. For example, Yelp has done this for a while and back in the early 2010s US Courts ruled that they think this is perfectly fine.
But it isn’t perfectly fine. It’s basically extortion. So yes, what you are proposing is a good idea. Solid on its own may not be enough solve this problem… but you should also look into the Fediverse to see if it can also be applied to your use case in combination with Solid.
You could probably build this using the Schema.org Review schemas, but you may get further building this with ActivityPub too!
