I have just released a version of FediPod which requires no install. Just point your browser at https://fedipod.net and let the wizard walk you through creating a Fediverse account and importing an existing pod or creating a new pod to base the account on. Signing up on fedipod.net does not lock you into anything - your data is all on your pod and your Fediverse identity is yours forever regardless of whether you remain attached to fedipod.net.
