Hi everyone ![]()
I’m building dStorage (https://dstorage.pro), a privacy-first data layer for decentralized applications.
The dStorage SDK provides a simple abstraction for applications to handle data with client-side encryption and decentralized or user-controlled storage. It can also link/reference stored content to a blockchain smart contract, currently focused on Midnight, a privacy-preserving blockchain network, without putting the actual data on-chain.
We also offer dStorage Pro which provides infrastructure services such as funding and paying protocol transactions on behalf of developers, making it easier for applications to interact with decentralized protocols without requiring users or developers to manage the underlying protocol tokens themselves.
Today, dStorage is being built around a adapter architecture, allowing applications to work with different storage backends without having to change their data layer.
I’m considering adding a Solid Pod adapter. ![]()
The idea would be to support:
-
Personal Pods — including self-hosted Pods or Pods provided by third-party hosting providers
-
Hosted/commercial Pod services — where providers offer Solid Pods as a service
The second option is particularly interesting in combination with dStorage Pro, which could potentially handle the payment/funding side of Pod services for applications and developers.
I’d love to hear from the Solid community:
Would a dStorage adapter for Solid Pods be useful to you or to applications you’re building?
And if you’re working with Pods today, I’d be particularly interested in hearing about the current pain points around storage, payments, and integrating Pods into dApps.
