Using alternative WebID with SOLID

I am partnered with a digital ID provider, EarthID (myearth.id), and want to use the EarthID for authentication on the SOLID server.

Is this supported? Is there any reason this is a bad idea, and is there existing documentation supporting this type of deployment?
