New Time, Exciting Topics at Practitioners

In order to hear more from our colleagues around the world, Solid Practitioners will now be holding meetings on an alternating schedule:

First Thursday of every month 15:00 UTC (same as it has been)                                     
Third Thursday of every month  6:00 UTC (new global south time)

All are invited to the upcoming meeting, in which we will hear presentations from Dr. Jess Moore, on her work with the Guriney health clinic, a collaboration exploring Solid in relation to Indigenous data sovereignty and also her work using Solid for community libraries. Tentatively, we’ll also hear from Dr. Cat Kutay who specializes in Indigenous technology and web-based systems for Indigenous knowledge management.

Nice.

I’m from New Zealand and wanted to start attending these but the time was too early for me.

I have missed this weeks meeting but the indigenous topics are of particular interest to me.

Are meeting notes/summaries recorded from each meeting?

I’m a Māori (indigenous) software developer interested in how SOLID can be used by Māori groups here in Aotearoa/New Zealand.

Hi David,

We had a great meeting and yes, both minutes and a video recording will be available, I’ll announce them here when they are ready,

We didn’t have time to fully explore the Indigenous issues so I’d like to plan a session specifically on that topic. Hopefully you and Dr. Kutay and other indigenous people can present. Would you be available on 21st May at 6:00 UTC? It would be great to have a discussion about how Solid can best relate to Indigenous communities.
