Hosting Climate data using Solid technology

Hello community,

Some sad news about a project that is related to climate change: Columbia’s Climate School IRI Data Library will [soon be shutting down.](IRI – International Research Institute for Climate and Society | Data Library Sunset)

While this is not an issue specific to Solid, the holders of the data are exploring and looking for individuals or organizations with expertise, time, and possibly hosting capability of these datasets which have been collected over the past three decades. I feel that the persistent hosting and availability of historical climate data is very important, and that Solid demonstrates its usefulness as a sustainability and openness here. If you’re interested in providing any of the above, or simply want to stay up to date, the above hyperlink has all the information you need.

@jeswr - is this something ODI could help with? Seems like a critical need, a good fit for Solid, and doable without major technical hurdles.
