Dear Solid Community,
There have been some questions around the implication of ODIs stewardship on the Code of Conduct processes in Solid. The existing Code of Conduct Committee remains in place until further notice.
Best,
Jesse
Dear Solid Community,

The ODI is now in a position where it can take on Code of Conduct Comittee responsibilities. Our proposed method for doing this is to have an email solid-ombuds@theodi.org which will be monitored by Kwaku (@kkuffour) who is the IT manager for the ODI. We will notify you if the Ombuds ever changes, and intend to ensure that it is always a member of ODI staff that is not otherwise involved with the Solid Community, so that they can impartially act upon CoC complaints.
At the suggestion of members of the existing CoCC, we plan to use the W3C Code of Conduct Statement rather than the Solid Community Code of Conduct. As with the remit of the previous CoCC, this Code of Conduct applies to any Solid Github Repos, Chats and Forums that are not already governed by the W3C Ombuds. We will create a formal list of these locations in due course.
The solid-ombuds@theodi.org email is already live should you need to lodge any complaints.
I have added an agenda item to tomorrow’s CG call to discuss whether there are any requested changes to this setup. We are open to suggestions and expect that there will be changes to this process over time as a result of community feedback and as our processes mature.
