ChatGPT Pulse is out to lay the seed for greatest manipulation machine world ever saw

Researching on the topic of personal AI assistance led me to Solid, as a perfect tool in world where AI’s know us like we do ourself, or even better. Seeing OpenAI publish this new feature was something I expected for some time now, today it finally happened. Seed has been planted and it would probably take them year or two to perfect this product, but I really see it as something that will grab peoples attention in similar ways social media algoritms did.

So the future we seem headed to is where all of our data remains in some company databases. But thats been the case for some time, real issue now, is that this is no longer search data, clicks, time spend on page, or any other vague information about you as a person that later needs to be combined to extract some vague insights about you. This time is would be different, the data generated with AI assistant like LLM’s is much much richer of direct insights. In such way that it can know you better than you do.

There is huge discuss in me by this technology and companies (especially ones like ex. non-profit OpenAi) that I haven’t felt since social media became a thing. It really sucks seeing that nothing have changed since, but the profound negative impact on society by technologies unleashed by tech giants and power hungry individuals.

Ideas behind Solid are so much bigger than Solid if self, and I really believe this community is on right side of history.

I’m also interesting to hear thoughts of other people about this topic.

Hi, it seems you described situation accurately, but I don’t connect the dots how this relates to Solid?

P.S. And I am new to Solid as well.

I see Solid web page says:

Solid lets you put documents into an online file system where have control over which people, applications, and AI agents can read and edit them.

Your data remains yours even when you change providers or try new services, applications or AI agents.

AI agents can read and write your documents to provide personalised services while respecting your privacy preferences.

You decide which AI systems can learn from your information and for what purposes.

Sounds like a solution searching for a problem to solve.
