# Practitioners Meeting : Decentralised Archives

No downloads or pre-registration required. We will have a presentation On the \*\*North Kensington Social Justice Archive (NKSJA) - Pilot with Solid\*\*.
Discovery phase workshops revealed rich local archives alongside concerns about ownership, access, and preservation.
Jacob identified Solid Pods and Web 3.0 technologies and developed a demo archive to demonstrate how a decentralised approach could work in practice as a potential model for adoption.
Some considerations for discussion:
- **Location of materials:** Where should archive resources reside, and how does decentralisation affect “depositing”?
- **Roles and levels:** Fully hosted own Pods (contributors manage everything) vs managed interface (archive hosts, contributor controls access via interface).
- **Access and protection:** Can Solid help ensure contributors maintain control over their materials, preventing unauthorised downloading or sharing?
- **Integration with preservation:** Are there any existing examples of preservation with Solid, how could we address long-term integrity, fixity, and usability of archived content?
