# Giving permissions to a friend

You can use the sharing pane to grant other WebIDs access to your resources, [here is a tutorial that shows you how](http://forum.solidproject.org/t/how-to-change-the-sharing-settings-for-a-resource/114).

AFAIK there isn’t any tools out there right now (except the sharing pane via the data browser) that helps you with resource sharing, but I wrote [a reply to another similar thread on this](http://forum.solidproject.org/t/sharing-files-in-private-folders-programmatically-react-javascript/1347/2), might be of interest to you as well 🙂
